North Kelvin Sports Development Group Wraps up Block 2 of Bridges and Barriers

NKSDG's Bridges & Barriers project completed Block 2. Great progress has been made taking the project to new school partnerships in Glasgow.

A further eleven Active Schools Coordinators are now on board now branching us out to the North East and also to the South to add to the two ASCs from the North West in Block 1.

This partnership work has made our project city-wide as hoped for. We also bought new bibs with the B&B logo on to help promotion.

Block 2 partnerships were: Bankhead and Corpus Christi; St Rochs and Royston; Whiteinch and St Pauls; and Golfhill and St Denis. The school MUGA pitch at Golfhill was our first outdoors session as neither school had an indoor option.

Block 3 partnerships are: St Saviours and Riverside; St Patricks and Anderston; Avenue End and St Rose of Lima; and back to Bellcraig for another four-school partnership with the local schools this time focussing on P7s and four pupils from each school.

Pupils from the whole project will have their schools invited to a Bridges & Barriers Football Festival to be arranged before the end of March providing us with an opportunity for a grand stand finish.
