Who makes the Action on Sectarianism Products and Service available to me?
Our Digital Products and Services are made available to you by YouthLink Scotland, the national agency for youth work. It is a membership organisation in the unique position of representing the interests and aspirations of the whole sector, both voluntary and statutory. YouthLink Scotland champions the role and value of the youth work sector, challenging government at national and local levels to invest in the development of the sector. Why is it important to read these Terms of Use?
Our Terms of Use are important because they confirm our legal commitment to you and provide legal guidelines which you need to be aware of when you use our Digital Products and services. In return, we ask you to act in a legally responsible and respectful manner in accordance with these Terms of Use.

What does this Terms of Use cover?
These Terms of Use apply to your use of most of our Digital Products. We do not provide a complete list of our Digital Products but by way of example, they include our website and social networking sites. 

When we refer to our Content, we mean any audio, video, text, images, trademarks, logos or other content made available to you by us.  Sometimes this includes content which is owned or controlled by third parties which we are permitted to make available to you.

Where applicable, we will provide a link from all relvant Digital Products to this document so that you are made aware of these Terms of Use.

These Terms of Use apply regardless of device type (i.e. computer, laptop, mobile phone, smart phone, tablet, games console or any other device) you are using to access our Digital Products. 

Is actiononsectarianism.info content suitable for everyone and what parental control tools are available to me?
Our Content may contain material that you consider indecent, objectionable or unsuitable for young audiences. If you permit a child to use your device to view our Content you are solely responsible for deciding whether or not such Content is appropriate for that child to view. Where relevant, parental guidance is provided (in the form of ‘G' for guidance) with additional warnings at the beginning of our video content and on non-video content (where applicable).  We would ask that you pay attention to this if you are concerned in any way.

Why does actiononsectarianism.info ask me to register?
By becoming a registered user, you will be able to access areas of our Digital Products which are not available to other visitors. You will also be provided with a more personalised experience and the ability to participate in conversations or other forms of interaction. 

Please note that you need to be 16 or over to become a registered user.

What do I agree to by accessing and using actiononsectarianism.info Digital Products
By becoming a registered user of our Digital Products you agree that you will:

• not let anyone else use your account; 
• keep your login details, including your password and PIN (if applicable) private; 
• only set up one account per person;
• set up your account in your own name, and use an appropriate display name. You must not seek to pass yourself off as someone else or pick a display name which is offensive, defamatory or otherwise likely to be deemed by us to be unacceptable;
• tell the truth about your age. If, for example, we don't believe that you are 16 or older, we may ask you to prove your age at any time; and
• notify us if you become aware of any unauthorised use of your account. 

We may suspend or terminate your account if we reasonably believe you are breaching any of these requirements or any of the other Terms of Use. Our decision to suspend or terminate your account will be based entirely on our own best judgement.

Whether or not you are a registered user, when using our Digital Products and services you must always act honestly and appropriately. Unacceptable behaviour includes being abusive, offensive, defamatory, infringing anyone's privacy, trolling, harassing or doing anything which would upset or be disrespectful to any other person.

You will be able to access your registered details with your email address and password.

You will be able to keep your information up to date by logging in and updating your profile.

If you want to terminate your account, you can do so by clicking on ‘Close Account'. This will wipe the personal information you provided from our systems, which means  all other information we may hold about you (such as how you have used our Digital Products) will be annonymised. I'm concerned about my personal data. What can actiononsectarianism.info use this for?

Can I copy stuff from actiononsectarianism.info?
With the exception of adverts and user content, all Content and Digital Products belongs to us and/or our partners.

Whilst we have no objection to you printing out extracts or a page of text from our Digital Products for your own personal use, you must not copy or reproduce or otherwise publish large sections of our Content or, for example, an entire website.

You are not permitted to use any of our Digital Products for commercial purposes. For example, you must not copy and reproduce our Content for use on your own advertiser funded website or attempt to commercialise or attempt to sell access to our Content in any way.

It is very important that our Action On Sectarianism brand is fully protected from misuse. Our trademarks and logos are designed to provide trust through authenticity. Therefore, you must not copy, reproduce or otherwise publish any of our trademarks or logos.

Making our resources available on unauthorised websites or software applications is against the law. There are particular laws in force about sharing content without permission on P2P networks and it is important that you do not do this.

Our videos, graphic devices and information is copyrighted and is the property of Action on Sectarianism. 

Is Action On Sectarianism responsible for third party websites when it provides a link to these?
Sometimes we provide links to websites and resources operated by third parties. We are not responsible or liable for your actions when you visit third party websites and resources. These third party websites may have their own Terms Of Use so you will need to be aware of these. Furthermore, unless stated otherwise, Action On Sectarianism does not endorse any third party website to which it provides a link.

Sometimes, third party websites provide links to our Content. This does not mean that we have any relationship with that website and you should be careful about assuming Action On Sectarianism association or affiliation to anyone else, especially where the existence of that relationship has not been confirmed by us.

Are these Terms of Use still applicable when I connect to Action On Sectarianism’s Digital Products from a social networking service?
When you connect to our Digital Products from a social networking service, these Terms of Use will still apply.  However the social networking service's own Terms of Use (and privacy and cookie policies) may also apply.

Do I need to pay Action On Sectarianism to use any resources?
Unless specifically indicated, there is no charge to use our Content. However, you may need to meet your internet service provider's charges in order to have access to the required amount of bandwidth.

What are the rules I need to know about user content?
We provide our registered users with an opportunity to participate in shared activity such as contributing via online comments, blogs and other interactive activity.

Your participation in and contribution to any such shared activity is subject to your compliance with our Community Guidelines.

You will own your user content and may continue to use it, but by posting or submitting this content to us, you allow us (and our third party partners) to use your content in any media throughout the world at any time.

Where we do use your user content, we also have the right to change or edit this. We might also show your name (and if available your photograph) with your contribution. If you would rather that we did not use your user content, we would kindly ask that you do not post or otherwise submit any user content via our Digital Products.

I would like to post links to Action On Sectarianism content on my website, or other social network account like Facebook or Twitter. Is this ok?
Some clips available on our Digital Products feature an embed code which allows you to display that clip on your website or social networking page ("embeddable content").

When using our embeddable content you must not:

• copy, re-publish, edit, alter, add to or use the embeddable content, embed code or embeddable player in any other way;
• charge users for access to the embeddable content, or use the embeddable content as a means to secure advertising or other revenue in any other way; 
• directly or indirectly suggest any endorsement or approval by us of your website or page or any non- Action On Sectarianism entity, product or content or any views expressed; 
• use the embeddable content in any way that could bring Action On Sectarianism into disrepute or otherwise cause any loss or damage to Action On Sectarianism; and/or

Can I get involved in forums and blogging?
Discussion forums, blogs and news stories may feature in various areas of the Action on Sectarianism website. Where used, these articles have been sourced and published as original and in full and no alterations or changes have been made. AOS will always provide reference to where the news/blog/article has been sourced from. The views of the content of such article are the views of the original writer and AOS do not promote them as their own nor do they take any responsibility for any action that may arise from reading these views. AOS does not represent or endorse the accuracy or reliability of any information, content or advertisements contained on, distributed through, or linked, downloaded or accessed from any of the services contained on this website, nor the quality of any products, information's or any other material displayed, purchased, or obtained by you as a result of an advertisement or any other information's or offer in or in connection with the services herein. AOS do not make any money from publishing news/blogs/articles, nor is it their intention to do so. AOS use forums, blogs and news stories purely for non-profit, educational purposes.     

Any messages, comments or information contributed to news/blogs/articles become the sole property of Action on Sectarianism and may or may not be displayed, at their discretion. The posting of copyrighted or illegal material is prohibited - information must comply with applicable local laws, including those of the server and site owner. Anything that is abusive, indecent, unlawful or defamatory will not be displayed. Any forums and blogs managed by Action on Sectarianism are provided as a public service and usage of these services may be terminated at any time by Action on Sectarianism without prior notice. What technical stuff do I need to know about?
We will try to make our Digital Products available to you at all times. However, we do not provide any guarantees about their availability or our ability to resolve technical problems that arise quickly.

Whilst we seek to make our Digital Products available as widely as possible, some features and functionality may not work on all devices.

Please note that matters relating to the internet generally, such as broadband availability, connections and speed and other matters outside of our control may affect the quality and availability of our Digital Products and your ability to participate in some Action On Sectarianism activities. We take no responsibility for this.

To watch any of our video content on your computer or other device will need to meet the minimum operating requirements.

Whilst we will take reasonable steps to ensure that our Content is virus free, we cannot guarantee this. Accordingly, you must take your own precautions in this regard (such as using anti-virus software). We accept no responsibility for any infection by virus or any other contamination or by anything which might have a destructive property.

If you see any content which appears on our Digital Products which you consider to infringe your copyright, please let us know by contacting us. When you notify us about a copyright infringement you will need to: (a) provide your contact details; (b) identify the infringing content; and (c) confirm that you own the copyright in the content and that its publication has not been authorised by you.

Following receipt of this notification, we will consider whether the content ought to be taken down.

Our Digital Products are only intended to be accessed by residents in the United Kingdom. Action on Sectarianism makes no representation that materials available across our Digital Products comply with local laws in other jurisdictions. 

These Terms of Use are governed by Scottish law and both you and Action on Sectarianism agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts in connection with the same.
