Funding Opportunity for Youth-Led Research
Applications Extended until Friday 29th September
YouthLink Scotland is seeking local youth work partners to deliver ‘Youngwummin’, starting now and running through the Year of Young People 2018.
We will work with 10 early career youth workers from five youth organisations across Scotland to deliver our Youngwummin project between September 2017 and August 2018. The youth workers will receive funding to take part in training sessions in youth work skills, youth-led research and heritage skills, and then to use the skills to work directly with young people to examine the impact of WW1 on young women in Scotland
Youngwummin has been funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) and will be delivered in partnership with the National Library of Scotland. Between June and August 2018 the young people will exhibit the findings from their research in the Treasure Space at the National Library of Scotland. The focus of this exhibition will be what they have learned about the impact of WW1 on young women in Scotland examining key themes such as relationships, education, work, immigration etc., as well as their own reflections on whether the issues faced resonate with them today.
