Communities United

It may still be only one month into term one of the new academic year but Sense over Sectarianism have already begun delivering the successful Communities United programme across the Glasgow Primary Schools network.

Communities United is a programme designed to twin local denominational and non-denominational primary schools from the same community. The Primary 7 classes from each school work together in each other school buildings to take part in the delivery of the SOS Primary Schools workshop resource which is delivered directly by SOS staff. To reinforce the programme the young people come back together at a later date to take part in a fun sports morning where they engage in team working and fun sporting activities.

So far this session Golfhill & St Denis’s PS’s from Dennistoun and Dunard St Street & St Charles PS’s from Maryhill have already completed the series of workshops and St Timothy’s & Thorntree PS’s from Carntyne and Anderston & St Patricks PS’s from the Andertson area of Glasgow will also have done so by the time this article is published.

With a number of schools waiting to take part the Communities United programme promises to be a busy one this year. For more information contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
