Barrhead Kisses Bigotry Goodbye

The Kiss Bigotry Goodbye tour rolled into Barrhread on the 22nd November when author Daniel Gray brought his brand of footballing warmth, wit and whimsy to a special Junior Football event held as part of Nil by Mouth’s national campaign.
The event was supported by local radio station Pulse 98.4’s junior football show and fans from several leading junior clubs including Arthurlie, Pollok and Glenafton packing out the venue to hear Daniel’s tales from the touchlines and terraces and take part in a special football quiz. During the event Daniel read from his critically acclaimed new book ‘Saturday 3pm: 50 Eternal Footballing Delights’ which was recently praised by legendary commentator Archie McPherson after the duo appeared together on Radio Scotland’s ‘Off the Ball’ show.
During 2016 he has teamed up with Nil by Mouth on the ‘Kiss Bigotry Goodbye’ tour which sees the charity travel across the country to give fans the chance to celebrate the many positives of being a supporter of the Scottish game.
Nil by Mouth Campaign Director Dave Scott said:
‘This was one of the best nights of the tour and it was wonderful to spend an evening with genuine football fans who really got into the spirit of the event. Daniel is one of the UK’s best football writers and his love of the game shines through when he performs at these events. It also provides us a perfect opportunity to tell fans a little bit more about our work and campaigns to introduce positive change such as Strict Liability into the Scottish game. This tour has been a huge success with hundreds of fans from across the country coming along. We hope to continue it into 2017.
