Inverclyde Community Development Trust

Gie’s Peace Inverclyde is an anti-sectarian initiative working with individuals and groups throughout Inverclyde to explore the issue of sectarianism using creative approaches. Working in Schools and community settings the project aims to raise awareness of Sectarianism and Hate Crime and open up discussions around these issues.

 It is a community-led project shaped by the people of Inverclyde, promoting respect, celebrating diversity and exploring sectarianism.

The Gie’s Peace is a project of Trust Volunteering, Inverclyde Community Development Trust. The Trust have been working throughout Inverclyde for over twenty-five years to create jobs, remove barriers and provide services.

Definition of Sectarianism:

Intolerance and fear of difference.

Sectarianism is negative emotion, language or behaviour directed towards people belonging to or perceived as belonging to a particular sect or denomination of a religion.
